HARTFORD, CT – Radiology Associates of Hartford, a LucidHealth company, announces the appointment of Michelle J. Romero, M.D., as incoming practice president. Romero, a board-certified radiologist, succeeds Michael Firestone, M.D. who remains with the practice as an integral member of the physician team.

A New Jersey native, Romero completed her residency in diagnostic radiology at Rutgers University – New Jersey Medical School, where she was Chief Resident. She then completed her fellowship training in breast and body imaging at UConn Health, University of Connecticut where she also served as a faculty member and clinical instructor of radiology. Dr. Romero joined RAH in 2015 as a staff radiologist and held the position of RAH Secretary from 2020-2023.
Dr. Romero’s areas of expertise include breast imaging and minimally invasive procedures. She is also an expert in body imaging with CT, MRI and ultrasound. Dr. Romero is board-certified in diagnostic radiology by the American Board of Radiology and is also a member of the Society of Breast Imaging (SBI), American College of Radiology (ACR) and Radiological Society of North America (RSNA).
Dr. Romero resides in Avon, Connecticut with her husband and daughter. She enjoys traveling and has visited over 30 countries. Tennis and pickleball are her more recent hobbies.
