Magnetic Resonance Imaging, or MRI, is a non-invasive study using strong magnetic and radio waves (no radiation) to provide clear and detailed diagnostic images of internal body organs and tissues. MRI allows for the evaluation of some body structures that may not be as visible with other diagnostic imaging methods.
When it comes to MRI, the difference is clear.
At Radiology Associates of Hartford, we continually invest in cutting-edge technology to provide you and your referring provider the most accurate diagnosis while ensuring your comfort. We also offer convenient and accessible appointment times with fast, reliable results.
All MRI exams must be ordered by a physician or advanced practice provider. The provider who ordered your scan will receive the results, typically within 3 business days.
MRI Exams and Implant Safety
An implant is anything in your body that you were not born with. Many metal implants are compatible with MRI, including most orthopedic implants. Patients with metal implants in the body need to inform the scheduling associate at the time of scheduling. While MRI exams are safe for most patients, always check with your doctor to ensure that your implant is safe for MRI.
